Since 2012 – in a parallel ‘headwear universe’ – I’ve been working in Costume for Film in BC’s film industry, with a specialty in Millinery. It’s a fast-paced, hard-working environment, and always inspiring. From baseball caps to quirky turbans, bedazzled flappers to bohemian headdresses, and all manner of interesting characters in between, I find every project brings its own unique, technical challenges, elements of fun – and satisfaction!
I’m thankful and humbled to work creatively alongside the many talented designers, artists, technicians, and other skilled professionals of the IATSE Local 891 Union (largest in Canada). It’s an honour for me to contribute.
